Eilat's newspaper reports about a ship that left Romania with 20,000 ship on board, and arrived at Aqaba with only 13,000 still alive.

The 7,000 other sheep died, according to the report, due to hunger and thirst since the ship workers did not supply them any water and food.

Aqaba port refused to permit unloading the sheep due to the severe public health hazard, and sent the ship to get rid of the dead sheep first.

Since no country is expected to permit unloading thousands of dead bodies in its territory, it seems as if once again, the ship will throw the dead sheep overboard.

Tossing overboard even one dead animal is forbidden because it pollutes the environment.

Throwing the dead sheep to the ocean will also cause the living sheep misery since they will continue to suffer from hunger and thirst.

Unfortunately, this disaster is not unusual, but a result of crowding tens of thousands of animals in a ship, as if they were inanimate cargo.

For example, last year about 1,800 sheep and calves died during only one journey from Australia to Israel.
